We’re in this together! Covid-19 Update

In early March, I was starting to plan for our 13th anniversary event in the Village at Shirlington, which would be happening at the end of the month. We got a fresh coat of paint on the inside of our store and a brand new awning for the exterior. I was then on to party planning. Would we have a sale? Would we have it catered? The to-do list was getting longer.  But in a matter of days & weeks (the longest ever!), who could have imagined what our lives would look like by the end of March?  Alas, here we are, sitting at home, trying to settle in to new routines, disconnected from friends & colleagues.  Most of all, trying to keep our safety & sanity, amidst the daily onslaught of bad (sad) news.

For me, I’ve tried to keep as much normalcy in my life as possible. We received some large shipments of merchandise at the beginning of March, so I’ve been opening boxes and redoing displays and trying to figure out how Le Village Marché can still provide that source of happiness to the neighborhood as it always has, especially now, as we need it more than ever. I’ve been posting products & virtual tours on Instagram and Facebook for people to shop at home, and I’ve LOVED the response from all of you, to purchase, or even just to say, “Thank you” or “You’ve brought me so much joy!”  What an honor it is to bring a little relief to so many people during this trying time.

Our Cathedral Commons store in DC is closed for the foreseeable future, but for the last few weeks, in Shirlington, we have been open to limited foot traffic (5 customers at a time) on weekends, 12-4. From now on, we’ll only open up the VA store by appointment to further limit person to person contact.  If you’d like to shop in person, on weekends, contact me at hello@levillagemarche.com or call 703-379-4444.  I think this is a balanced approach to being able to provide customers with the retail therapy they crave, while being mindful about the severity of our current health crisis.

Thank you so much for your patience and your patronage of Le Marché over the years, and especially over the last few weeks. We WILL get through this & be stronger on the other side. ❤️  For now, I’ll say a bientot! {see you soon}
